“The introduction of the Water Services Entities Bill marks the mid-point of the three waters journey” says Raymond Horan, Chief Advisor of Taituarā. “This includes improvements to the current Bill and the development of the second Bill slated for introduction towards the end of September”.

Stepping up to support staff wellbeing
Taituarā is pleased to be partnering with AskYourTeam to launch an annual health, safety and wellbeing survey to enable Councils to measure staff wellbeing. For the first time, a sector-wide snapshot on the wellbeing of the local government workforce will be generated through the collective insights the high-level data will provide.

Sporting and recreation facilities strategy development coming up
We would like to make the local government sector aware that Sport New Zealand is commissioning 'National Facility Strategies' for the future provision of aquatic and indoor sport and active recreation facilities, building on those developed in 2013.

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has begun its 2022 update of the Building Code. Areas of change include plumbing and drainage, structural stability, and fire protection.
