‘Super Saturday’ nationwide vaccination drive
The Government has announced that Saturday 16 October 2021, or 'Super Saturday', is planned as a day when all Kiwis can go and get vaccinated throughout the day. Civic and political leaders are asked to contribute to this big effort to get people in their communities out to be vaccinated on this day.
‘Super Saturday’ nationwide vaccination drive
Chris Hipkins, COVID-19 Response Minister, announced it will be a "national day of action" for vaccinations in the final push to get all Kiwis protected against the disease.
Vaccination clinics will be open throughout Aotearoa all day, and during the evening. Workplaces, media and community leaders are asked to support vaccination turn out by mobilising people with effective messaging and appropriate incentives.
Reduced gap between vaccination doses to increase community immunity
In response to the ongoing Delta outbreak the Ministry of Health is advising New Zealanders to consider a shorter gap between doses of the Pfizer vaccine than the current standard of six weeks.
Reducing the gap between doses to three weeks or over means more people can be fully vaccinated sooner, increasing our community immunity.
