COVID-19 related commercial leasing provisions pass into law
The Government has signed the ability for tenants of commercial properties to negotiate some rent relief from their landlords into law. This applies if they have been unable to fully conduct their business at leased premises due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Taxation Bill – what does it mean for local government?
In September 2021, the Taxation (Annual Rates for 2021-22, GST, and Remedial Matters) Bill was introduced to Parliament. The Bill contains a number of income tax changes targeted at local authorities, and some changes to the GST regime. In addition, Inland Revenue has placed renewed focus on Tax Governance.
